Pet Care Service Agreement

Version 2, updated September 24, 2026

This agreement is between you (the "Client") and Nick DeMarco, doing business as DeMarco's Pet Services ("we" or "the Sitter"). By signing, you agree to these terms for every booking you make.

Services

We care for your pets in your home as described in each booking: overnight stays, daycare, check-in visits, dog walks, poop scooping, baths and related housesitting such as bringing in mail and packages and watering plants. We follow the care instructions you give us in your account. Please keep them up to date.

Your information

You agree to give accurate, complete information about your pets, including their health, medicines, behavior, history of biting or aggression, and any escape habits. We may decline or end a booking if a pet's behavior puts anyone at risk.

Health and vaccinations

Pets must be in good health and current on vaccinations required by law, including rabies for dogs and cats. Please upload vaccination records to your account. We are not veterinarians. We will give medicine as you instruct, but we are not responsible for a pet's reaction to medicine you provide.

Keys and access

You will give us a way into your home (a key, lockbox or code). We keep keys and codes private and use them only for your bookings. Unless you ask us to keep a key for future bookings, we return it within 7 days after your booking ends. If we cannot get in because of a changed lock or code, or a key that doesn't work, the visit is still charged.

Supplies and your home

You will provide enough food, medicine, litter, bags and supplies for the whole booking, plus a little extra. If we need to buy supplies, you agree to repay the cost. We treat your home with care and leave it as we found it. We are not responsible for damage caused by your pets, by problems with the home itself (plumbing, electrical, appliances), or by events outside our control.

Walks and outdoor time

Dogs must wear a secure harness for walks, not just a collar. We may shorten or skip a walk in unsafe weather, extreme heat or cold, or if a pet seems unwell. Pets are never left off leash outside a fenced area unless you ask us to in writing.

Emergencies

If your pet is sick or injured, we will try to reach you and your emergency contact first. If we cannot reach anyone, we will follow your Veterinary Care Authorization. If a pet is having an emergency or goes missing while in our care, we will contact you right away and follow your instructions.

Payment

Prices are listed on our website and confirmed when we approve your booking. Invoices are due within 7 days. We accept the payment methods listed on your invoice. Holiday dates may cost more.

Cancellations

Our Cancellation Policy is part of this agreement.

Limits of responsibility

We take great care with every pet, but animals can be unpredictable. Except where caused by our own negligence, we are not responsible for illness, injury, loss or death of a pet, or for loss or damage to property. You agree to cover any vet, damage or other costs your pet causes to us or to other people or animals during a booking.

Updates

We may update these terms. If we do, we will ask you to agree again before your next booking.

General

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
